National Film Awardees falicitated

IMPHAL, May 28: The Manipur Film Development Corporation in association with the Film Forum Manipur and Television & Cine Foundation Manipur organized a felicitation function of Aribam Syam Sharma, Films Division Doordarshan Northeast and the film crew of “Manipuri Pony” and “Leipaklei” on winning awards at the 60th National Film Awards, 2013.
The function was held at the Manipur Film Development Corporation auditorium attended by the Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam as the chief guest.
Speaking at the function, the Dy CM lauded Aribam Syam Sharma and the crew members of the two films for their feats.
He said, the state owes a lot to the film maker for his contribution.
“He is an asset of the state and the youth should follow in his steps”.
In reply to an earlier appeal from the film maker to accord some opportunities to the national and international awardees in the film line as accorded to sports persons of the state, the Dy Chief Minister said, he will convey the message to the Chief Minister after his arrival to the state.
He further expressed his belief that there would be a positive response from the Chief Minister as the state is best represented before the world by its arts and culture and sports.
Aribam Syam Sharma in his speech expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the function for felicitating him.
He said a filmmaker finds happiness in not just making films but also to see their products playing out on the screen.
Aribam Syam Sharma further appealed to the concerned authorities to provide some opportunities and benefits to the national and international awardees in the film line.
