KSO indefinite bandh suspended

IMPHAL, May 10: The indefinite bandh call given by the KSO in the Sadar Hill area has now been suspended following an assurance given by the Deputy Chief Minister to arrest the persons involved in the killing of two persons from Boungbal Khullen.
Speaking to the media at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) morgue, Thangmeinlen Kipgen President of the Kuki Student Organization (KSO) Sadar Hills said that the student organization and with the JAC formed with regard to the killing along with Ngamthang Haokip, Minister IFCD and Yamthong Haokip, MLA Saikul met the state Deputy Home minster Gaikhangam at his office chamber today morning. He further added that the Dy CM assured that those responsible for the killings would be arrested within one week besides providing for ex gratia to the families of the two and also a suitable job to the victim family in the Manipur state police department if the next to kin is physically fit to join the state police force.
Following the assurance given by the state government to the JAC and the KSO, the indefinite bandh in the Sadar Hills area has been suspended, he said while warning that if the government failed to put into actions its assurances, then the bandh call will be taken up again.
It may be mentioned that the dead bodies of Seitinlal Kipgen and Tongsat Haokip were found at the top of Narenkok Hills in a highly decomposed stage some 15 kilometers away from the Yairipok police station after the two was abducted by unknown persons from Nongpok Keithelmanbi on April 29.
