Catholic schools dominate state HSLC examination result


IMPHAL, May 20: Catholic schools once again proved their mettle by producing 23 students amongst the 25 rank holders of the High School Leaving Certificate Examination, 2013 results which was declared today. The results were declared by the State Education Minister Okendro today at his Secretariat office chamber before media persons.

A student of a government high school also made it amongst the 25 toppers.

Nirmalabas High School topped the list of to rankers with  as many as 13 students amongst the first 25 toppers including three amongst the first five toppers.

Little Flower School followed closely behind with 11 students amongst the first 25 toppers including the second position holder.

Amongst the first 25 toppers, Nongthonbam Khagemba Meitei of Lamding High School, Wangjing scored 451 with letter marks in all five subjects to stand at the joint 23rd position.

Miranda Mongbijam of Nirmalabas High School topped the examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur.

Miranda scored 480 marks out of the total 500 to top the exam amongst the 33579 students appearing the exam with letter marks in all five subjects.

According to the BSEM provided statistics, altogether 33771 students enrolled for the exam (including both external and regular) with 33579 sitting for the exam.

24267 students were declared to have passsed at a pass percentage of 72 percent the highest in the past ten years.

Altogether 10668 candidates made it through in first division (5705 boys and 4963 girls); 12452 passed in the second division (6478 boys and 6074 girls) while another 24267 passed in the third division (12769 boys and 11498 girls).
