Sharmila re-arrested

IMPHAL, March 13: A day after her release, Irom Chanu Sharmila was rearrested again this evening on charges of attempt to commit suicide under Section 309 of the Indian Penal Code.
Irom chanu Sharmila who will turn 41 tomorrow was arrested this evening around 6:30pm from the Sharmila Kanba Lup Shanglen at Porompat where she was staying after her release yesterday.
Sharmila has been remanded to judicial custody till March 26. Meanwhile, the arrest was delayed for about 30 minutes after volunteers of the Sharmila Kanba Lup confronted the police personnel who had come to re-arrest the anti-AFSPA crusader.
