Moreh police hands over two with guns to Imphal police station


MOREH, March 15: The Moreh police handed over two alleged underground PLA cadres along with seized weapons from their possession  to the Imphal police station today.  According to a police source, the two were arrested by a team of Moreh police on 14 march at around 7.30 pm from Moreh ward number 2 after  specific and reliable information of about some armed elements loitering in and around Moreh ward number 2.

The source added that a team under the supervision of Balaram  Sub division police officer (SDPO) Moreh and Binodjit, officer in charge Moreh police commando and assisted by Sub inspector Uttamkumar singh, Sub Inspector Akoi Golmei, Sub Inspector B Debson and Havaldar H Permananda rushed to the area and conducted a cordon and search operation at Moreh ward number 2 and its surrounding areas near Sunrise ground.

During the search operation in the area, two unknown person were seen walking toward the Burma border near Sunrise ground.

Police personal shouted to the two unknown person to stop and  on body search of the two, one 9mm pistol marked with 'BARRETA U.S.A made', bearing body number BER571838 along with five live rounds with magazine along with one mobile phone was recovered from one person who is identified as Khuraijam Dutta Singh alias Santosh alias Roshan (30) son of Kh Nabakumar of Waikhong Mamang Leikai.

He revealed that he got basic training at Sajik tampak under ARMY number 2534 of 31 batch of 2003 and holding a post of Sergeant major.

One nironco Pistol 'made in china' bearing body number 405292 with five live rounds,  a magazine and a mobile was recovered from the second person identified as Sanasam Amumacha alias Solomon (36), son of Dojo of Waikhong Uyung Khunou. He disclosed that he  got his basic military training at Eastern Nagaland under ARMY number 3115 of 2008 batch and held the rank of Sergeant.

The arrested duo has revealed that they are active members of the PLA.  Both the two along with the guns have now been handed to the Imphal police station for further necessary legal action.
