Man arrested with explosives

IMPHAL, March 20: Imphal West district commandos arrested a cadre of the Kangleipak Yawol Kanna Lup ( KYKL)  along with 10 hand grenades and two powerful improvised explosive devices  from his residence today morning.

The arrested cadre along with the bomb were displayed before the media today at Imphal West commando complex.

According to the police, after getting specific and specific information of the presence of suspected underground cadres, a team of Imphal West commando team led by the Officer in charge, Imphal West commando team undertook a search operation in the Singjamei Sougrakpam Leikai area early morning and arrested  Sougrakpam  Surjit alias Ibungo singh (39) son of (L) Yaima. Surjit revealed to the police that he worked under one active member, Oken and also disclosed that he had hidden a bomb at Keithelmanbi Namching area under the Patsoi police station to launch an attack on security forces. A combined team of Imphal West Commandos and 18 Sikh Regiment personnal went to the area and recovered the bomb.

The recovered items by the combined team include 2 powerful improvised devices (IED); 10 hand grenades; 10 detonators; 1 remote control  and 1 battery cell.
