Girl allegedly raped in UP school

BULANDSHAHR, March 18 (agencies): A 13-year-old Manipuri girl studying in a government school in a village about 50 km from Bulandshahr was allegedly raped and dumped outside her school premises.

A probe is underway, the Sub Divisional Magistrate of the area under which the school falls, said.

The girl, studying in class IX, was allegedly found absent from mess during dinner at the boarding school yesterday, after which her classmates searched for her on the premises.

She was found lying unconscious outside the school premises where some civil extension work was going on.

The girl, according to the students, alleged that she was raped by a private contractor who was supervising the construction work. The police was notified about the incident.

Accusing the police of arriving late, the students allegedly indulged in stone pelting, in which a police vehicle was damaged.

The principal of the school denied the incident, and said he had scolded the girl for coming late to the mess.
