Combined police team nabs NSCN-IM captain, two others along with drugs

IMPHAL, March 10: A combined team of Thoubal commandos along with Pallel police arrested three persons including a captain of NSCN I-M along with drugs today around 1 pm. The three were later produced before  media persons at Thoubal commando complex.

According to the police, a combined team of Thoubal commandos and Pallel police led by N Sudhir, Officer in charge of Thoubal commando conducted a search operation in Pallel bazaar area and arrested the three along with drugs from their respective homes after getting specific information of the presence of some drug pushers and seller in the area.

The three arrested persons are identified as P R Shamsung Chothe (38) son of (L) P R Salhong Chothe of Pallel Bazaar; Wahengbam Deepak (38) son of Somorendro of Pallel bazaar and Yumnam Suresh Singh (27) son of Yumnam Ingoucha Singh of Pallel bazaar. The seized drugs from the trio include  20 pieces of SP capsules; 3 gram of heroin number 4, two syringes, one camouflage dress and two photos of PR Shamsung Chothe holding a gun and in full camouflage uniform.

According to a police source, PR Shamsung Chothe is reportedly a captain of the NSCN –IM.
