People are against Livingstone and not NSCN-IM, says UHVM

Dimapur, December 23 : The Union of the Hill and valley of Manipur has clarified that the people are not against NSCN-IM but against Livingstone and the use of NSCN-IM. “We are happy that one of the Brgdr. Of NSCN-IM is in enquiry of the case and hope will be truthful and come to light with true information,” a press note from R. Mapu, General Secretary, UHVM stated.

It also stated that according to a news agency’s news published in Dimapur recently, it state that Livingstone of NSCN-IM Slap the Manipuri Actress because she said against the Nagas. However, it may be clarified that, the public was there in the musical concert at Chandel on December 18. Momoko said nothing against the Nagas. Yes it may have hurt Livingstone as he said to Momoko by kicking “then do our Naga community have such culture”. In fact all the artist went to Chandel to help in a fund drive of local Naga organization.

The note further stated: “The present situation all happens and started from the dress changing room while Livingstone came inside without permission or a knock. Livingstone asked “are you Momoko?” Momoko “Yes dada (means yes brother) and told him to go out of the dress changing room while he touched her. Momoko continues “in our Meitei community we don’t have such culture”. Then Livingstone continues (by pulling down the hair of Momoko) “then do our Naga Community have such culture” and started kicking and when the actress was on the floor also kicked on the face. Latter Livingstone said her words made him to do so. He push off by Guna which Livingstone fired at him, which was missed and again to Prakash the second shot. One of the person (cadre) stop him to do so by pilling him in which the two shots are missed. The Policemen and Indian Military present there do not perform any action.”

The Union also mentioned in the press note that even last year at a Musical concert in Chandel, Livingstone had committed the same act. He went to the stage and touched a female artist. It was calmed down when one of the Meitei artist told him, “in Meitei we don’t have such culture. If a Meitei touched one of your girls like this, what will you feel.”
