US urges Syrian rebels to uphold international rules of war

Washington, Nov 3: The United States on Friday urged Syrian rebels to uphold the international rules of war after a video emerged purportedly showing opposition fighters executing Syrian soldiers.US Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told media that US condemn human rights violations by any party in Syria.
The UN human rights body said the video could be evidence of war crimes.
U.N. human rights spokesman Rupert Colville told a news briefing that amateur video appearing to show Syrian rebels killing soldiers who had surrendered must be verified but appears to constitute a war crime that should be prosecuted.
Anti-government rebels killed 28 soldiers on thursday in attacks on three army checkpoints in Idlib.
