National softball championship to begin from today

Fourteen teams representing various states of the country have reached Imphal and four more are on the way.
The teams which have reached Imphal are Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Orissa, Bihar, Nagaland and Meghalaya.
The teams which are on way are Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Pondicherry and Maharashtra.
Organizing chairman MLA T Mangibabu, speaking with media persons, said that due to the blockade teams coming from others state are facing a lot of inconveniences.
He further appealed blockade supporters to relax the blockade for the players coming as well as leaving the state for the championship. He also appealed to all the civil bodies, JACs and other organizations to refrain from calling any bandh or blockade during the championship.
The Federation has given us a good opportunity to promote the game by letting us organized such a grand event in the state, he added.
