French polo team arrives at Imphal

IMPHAL, November 22: The French polo team consisting of seven members has arrived here in Imphal today to participate at the 6th Manipur Polo International 2012, which will be held at Mapal Kangjeibung during November 24 to 29 as a part of the ongoing Sangai festival.The French team was recieved by officials of Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at the Tulihal Airport, Imphal. Members of the Frence team were team captain Allemand Daniel Roger, Christian Daudre, Paul Benattar, Sebastian Decommer, Sebastian Matte, Mrs Loreal Claude Marie and Miss Allemand Loreal.
Thailand, Germany and England teams will also be arriving Imphal tomorrow to participate in the championship. Mention may be made that Polo was originated in Manipur and the Mapal Kangjeibung is the oldest living pologround in the world.
Six member’s team of Thailand, eight member’s team of Germany and 10 member’s team of England teams will be arriving here tomorrow.
