K'tongbi rallies for power decentralisation

IMPHAL, Oct 23: A public rally was today taken out at Kanglatongbi in Senapati district under the aegis of Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs, Manipur (FATCYM) demanding decentralisation of power and funds to streamline the existing practice of work allocation and administration in the department of Directorate of Tribal Affairs and Hills, Government of Manipur at the earliest.

The rally was joined by villagers and public of Kanglatongbi area including theology students.

R Ashing, president of FATYCM said most of the funds sanctioned for the welfare of the hills and the hill people through the Directorate of Tribal Affairs do not reach the targeted people.
