DIMAPUR, Aug 25 (NNN): One cadre hailing from Khaplang group of NSCN has been killed allegedly by the rival NSCN-Khole/Kitovi cadres in the wee hours of Saturday in Kiphire town (Eastern Nagaland) near BOC area.
It is said that the slain NSCN-K cadre has been identified as one Subziba Sangtam of Chare village. He was reportedly holding a rank of lieutenant in the outfit.
Meanwhile, the NSCN-K alleged that Subziba Sangtam was abducted by the NSCN-Khole/Kitovi group and killed him in cold blood.
The NSCN-K said the outfit in no uncertain term denounces the cold blooded murder of its cadre by the "Khehoi campers" (NSCN-Khole/Kitovi) in the wee hours of Saturday which was in total contravention of the Eastern Naga Peoples Organisation (ENPO)’s December 18, 2007 resolution to stop all kinds of bloodshed within its jurisdiction.
"It may be noted here that the Khehoi gang after defection of former NSCN (K) USR chairman Samuel Sangtam to their fold attack the residence of its new chairman and deputy kilonser (minister) Zikiumong at about 7 pm last night but he escape miraculously from the clutches of the killers. However, the killers on failing to kill the chairman went and abducted one cadre identified as Lieut. Suziba Sangtam of Chare village who was attending to his ailing son from his house and later shot him death near BOC at about 1 am," alleged the "ministry of information publicity" (MIP) secretary of the NSCN-K.
The NSCN-K said it would like to ask both ENPO and USLP what action they are taking against those murderers who are all out in killing Naga patriots without heeding to the peoples' call for maintaining public peace and tranquillity. "If stern action is not taken within the next few days, then the NSCN will be compelled to initiate counter action which might disrupt the prevailing the peace in the district.
Moreover, the NSCN-K said it would like to know from the "Khehoi campers" (Khole/Kitovi group) whether they are welcoming those murderers who betrayed their own brothers and defected to their fold in order to save their skin after committing all those unforgivable crimes not only against the NSCN but also against Nagas as a whole. The NSCN had nothing to hide but the truth is Mr. Samuel had defected to the rival camp only because of change of chairmanship which is nothing but exposing his true colour as if he wants the chairmanship for his whole life. But the revolutionary system of the government is not what he thinks it to because anyone can be selected as chairman anytime and can also be changed whether be it from the civil or army setup. The NSCN reminds Mr. Samuel and his gang that the crimes committed by him and his henchmen towards Sangtam region and also for stealing NSCN arms and including other properties shall be pursue until all stolen arms and properties belonging to the NSCN are returned," it added.
Further, the NSCN-K said it salutes the "brave martyr" who sacrificed his life for the Naga cause and it shall not go in vain but shall be cherished and set as an example for his comrades. "The NSCN also shares the grief with the bereaved family members and hopes that the good lord grants solace to the bereaved family members also prays that the almighty God let the departed soul to rest in peace in heaven," the outfit added.
