Inter District Badminton: Police Club wins men's title

IMPHAL, August 17: The Thoubal team bagged the Senior Women’s and Junior Girls’ team winners trophy of the 31st Inter District badminton championship, 2012 which concluded today at the MBA, indoor hall, DM college campus.

Imphal West bagged the Junior Boys’, MPSC bagged the Senior Men’s while, Imphal East bagged the Veteran Men’s of the championship.

The state opne championship will start from tomorrow at the same venue.

The Senior Women’s Thoubal team defeated Manipur Police by 2-0 with N Purnima of TBL defeating Ksh Khelpati by 21-15, 21-12 in the first singles play, while in the first doubles, the Tbl pair of M Somibala and N Purnima defeated RK Miranda and Ksh Khelpati of MP by 21-15, 15-21, 21-11.

The Junior Girls’ Thoubal team defeated Imphal East by 2-0 with N Purnima of TBL defeating Y Dhanabati by 21-16, 21-10 in the first singles play, while in the first doubles, the Tbl pair of
 M Somibala and N Purnima defeated Y Dhanabati and Priyanka Bora of MP by 21-19, 21-13.

The Junior Boys’ Imphal West team defeated Imphal East by 2-0 with RK Devjit of I/W defeating H Thoithoi by 21-16, 21-12 in the first singles play, while in the first doubles, the I/W pair of Yaitomba I and RK Devjit defeated H Thoithoi and RK Sanajaoba of I/E by 21-15, 21-10.

The Veteran Men’s I/E team defeated I/W by 2-0 with W Amusana of I/E defeating Suniti Kumar by 21-19, 21-8 in the first singles play, while in the first doubles, the I/E pair of W Amusana and Ak Brojen defeated H Jugin and Jadumani of I/W by 21-16, 21-12.

The Senior Men’s MPSC team defeated I/W by 3-0 with RK Cinir of MPSC defeating Yaitomba I by 21-10, 21-19 in the first singles play.

In the second singles play, W James of MPSC defeated Ch Naoba of I/w by 21-11, 21-12, while in the first doubles, the MPSC pair of H Kishan and Momo defeated H Punshiba and Ch Naoba of I/W by 21-11, 21-08.
