City Meitei brought back in the state

City Meitei talks to media after arriving at Imphal Airport.

IMPHAL, August 11: KCP (City Meitei) leader Naorem Brojen alias City Meitei son of (L) Nara of Tentha Khunou was brought back to the state on an Air India flight AI 723 by Sajiwa Jail SP IK Muivah and Imphal Police SDPO Madunimai from the national capital.

The militant leader will hold tri partite talks with the state and central governments.

Several persons numbering around a thousand including locals and family members turn up at the Imphal airport to welcome the militant leader.

Speaking at the airport, the militant leader said, he has been brought back to the state to initiate tripartite talks with the government.

He however added that he and his outfit will not join the URF.

Meanwhile, the militant leader’s wife Kajal expressed her happiness over her husband coming out for peace talks.

The militant leader was handed over to the custody of the GOC 57 Mountain Division, Leimakhong.
