Child recruiters nabbed

IMPHAL, October 23: Personnel of Thoubal Police commando led by SI L Dhanabir arrested three child recruiters including a woman and her son. They were caught along with a 15 year-old minor while the teenager was being transported for recruitment to Moreh in a passenger van, bearing registration number MN01X-2608 plying along the Moreh to Imphal, in front of Pallel Police Outpost along National Highway Number 2 at around 10 am today.
According to reliable police sources, the three underground child recruiters were arrested by the team of Thoubal commando led by SI (OC) L Dhanabir while they were on their way toward Moreh.
According to reports, the 15 year-old-boy hails from Yourbung in Imphal East district and while the three arrested recruiters were identified as Kh Thoisana Devi, 45, of Wangoo Sabal, and her son Naotombi Singh, 23, and Kangjam Ibotombi, 47, of Takyel Khongban.
After the arrest they were handed over to Kakching police station and a case has been registered against the three accused. They will be produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Thoubal tomorrow.
