Anganwadi workers wary of govt apathy, warn of repercussions

LAMKA, Oct 21: Anganwadi workers/helpers of CCpur District comprising of ten blocks, today held an emergency meeting at Hmar Veng community hall situated at Hmar veng,Lamka.

The workers turn up in large number with an aim to apprise their grievances to the authority who have remained evasive to their demands regarding the release of pending rice supply.

President of the CCpur Anganwadi Mahila Organization (CAMO) Veineihhling said that they had already petition the concerned minister and dept. head but the authorities have failed to pay heed to their demand.

She also said that the 10 bags sanctioned for quarter yearly are as good as not distributed since, as of now, they get only five bags.

The president continued that, “The govt’s negative response in this regard will be construed as a rejection/undermining the workers”.

She continued that the workers, who are passive in their protest till now, will no longer remain as mute spectators to the govt’s inaction and warned of serious repercussion if the govt choose to reject their demands for release of rice for the year 2012-13.
