14th Finance Commission team to discuss developmental works to be undertaken in state

IMPHAL, October 1: A high level official team led by the 14th Finance Commission Chairman Dr YV Reddy will be arriving at Imphal on October 6 on a three day visit.

According to reports received by IFP, the Chairman will be accompanied by the four members of the Commission who holds the status of the Union Minister of State, two Joint Secretaries and other officials.

The Chairman of the commission holds the status of a Union Cabinet Minister.

On October 7, a day after their arrival in Imphal, the team will convene a meeting to be attended by the state Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and his council of ministers, Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga, Director General of Police, MK Das; Additional Chief Secretaries and other high ranking officials of the state.

The meeting will be convened at the Main Conference Hall of the Old Secretariat from 10 am and continue till 1pm, informed the source. The meeting will discuss the developmental works to be taken up in the state by the 14th Finance Commission.

The next day on October 8, the team will meet with representatives of all political parties in the state, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Urban Local Bodies, Autonomous District Councils, Trade Unions at the same conference hall.

It may be mentioned that a Committee on Estimates, Lok Sabha team had arrived in the state on September 29 to assess the works taken up on the railway line.
