JIRIBAM, August 20: The Jiribam Electricity Division has clarified that the division is not at fault for the death of 16 year old Md Babulal Laskar, son of Md Sahabuddin on August 19 around 11am at Kashimpur village due to electrocution after coming in contact with a LT line.
The clarification was provided by SO Md Ali Ahemed of the division while speaking to media persons.
He had said that the department had in order to provide electricity to the Kashimpur area placed the Low Tension line and had repeatedly informed the villagers not to wander near the wires until the work was completed.
He has further charged that going against the official information, Md Johur Uddin brother of the deceased 16 year old had tried to get a line connection from the line using a plier.
However, when staff of the department Md Moinul Haque and Md Nasir Uddin tried to warn off Md Johur Uddin against his action, he had ignored them declaring that he is also adept in the act which resulted in the unfortunate incident, claimed the SO.
He continued that he had himself reported the incident to the Jiribam Police and the ADC Jiribam and after resolving the issue with the family, the dead body of the boy had already been handed over to the family members and his last rites performed.
