AITC to field Kim Gangte in outer Manipur Parliamentary Lok Sabha Election, lambasts govt

IMPHAL, August 11: The All India Trinamool Congress Committee (AITC) has announced that the party will contest in the ensuing Lok Sabha Election 2014 in both outer and inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief of AITC has further announced that Kim Gangte will be the candidate for the outer Manipur Parliamentary Lok Sabha Election 2104 where she is the first name cleared by AITC for the candidate in the Lok Sabha Election so far, informed a statement issued by Th Inaocha Singh, Gen secy publicity and propaganda Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Party.

The statement alleged that the O Ibobi led government in the State even cannot guard the bungalow of the CM, forget about the security of the people adding that the remark made by Deputy CM that there had been some loophole in security arrangement in and around the bungalow was irresponsible.

If the media reports on including failed candidates into the merit lists of cleared SI candidates is true then the Home Minister along with the DGP of the State should resign from their posts immediately. By appointing important vacant posts in various department of the government after being bribed, the government has putted peace and development at stake.

Coming down heavily on the Agriculture Department of the State, the statement said that the department is one devoid of any policy and planning while questioning why the department is handing over urea through MLAs and Ministers in place of farmers adding that if the fertilizers are distributed though MLAs/Ministers then how farmers could get their exact shares.

Even though the government had announced that urea would be distributed to farmers at subsidised rate by the agriculture dept of the State under the sponsorship of RKVY and that those agents and dealers selling fertilisers at higher rate would be caught and punish, still agents and dealers are selling urea at Rs 560/570 per bag and the government has been remaining silent on the matter, it lamented.

The statement went on to inform that following a report submitted to the party’s central leaders in connection with the Indo-Myanmar Border fencing, Mamta Banerjee, chief of AITC had given assurance to the MPTCC’s president that acting on the report, she would meet Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country to exert pressure adding that the party in collaboration with like minded political parties would launch intense stir in connection with the case.
