AISF/MSC to observe 117th Birth Anniv of Jananeta Irabot

IMPHAL, August 24: Commemorating the 117th Birth Anniversary of Jananeta Irabot which falls on September 30, the All India Students’ Federation (AISF) Manipur State Council has geared up to organise a state level march pass competition, symposium, social service, painting competition, debate, discussion on the life of Irabot, lighting up of candles and lyrics recital, conveyed a press release issued by Laishram Lenin, state secy AISF/MSC.
The release said the main event, State level march pass competition would be held at Imphal under five categories namely junior group (educational institution), senior group (educational institution), organisation open, band party open and women group where the winner for each category would be awarded with cash prize, certificate along with trophy.
It further appealed to concerned institutions, organisations and band party contingents to take part in the competition and added that details about the competition could be obtained from the office of Irabot Bhavan Complex, AISF/MSC.
Meanwhile, the AISF, Heirok Zonal has elected its new office bearers for the term 2013-15 in a zonal convention held at Heituppokpi Maning Leikai, Heirok Part I on August 21 last, said a statement.
The convention attended by Moirangthem Rameshwar, advisor to AISF/MSC and Nongthombam Sanahal, state president AISF/MSC unanimnously elected Moirangthem Kabita Devi as the zonal president, Laishram Chinglen Meetei as vice president, Saikhom Sushil Singh as gen secy, Moirangthem Nongpoknganba as joint secy and L Busankumar Singh as treasurer along with electing five executive members.
The convention, while lauding the State Government for constituting directorates for Manipur Language Cell, also expressed that it would help in bringing up Manipuri language to a new height and develop the language, it said.
To honour and spread his remarkable works amongst the present generation, Irabot Foundation Manipur will organise the ‘Irabot Month Observation’ in the coming month of September, it said.
The press release further appealed to the general public to extend support and cooperation to make the month long observation successful and also appealing the local clubs, social and student organisations and political parties to organised meetings and discussion programs in the month of September next, it said.
