Demands for Medical entrance test continues

IMPHAL, July 21: The All India Students’ Federation (AISF) has today said in a press release that it is mentioned in the Supreme Court ruling on the issue of MBBS/BDS examination that NEET result will be applicable to those institutions which have already started the process of counseling while adding that in the case of Manipur, necessary preparation for counseling and submission of form for it has already started and further continued to demand that the NEET result should be accepted in compliance to Supreme Court verdict, it said.
The press release further said that in the States of Assam, Nagaland, Uttarkhand, Orissa and union territory Delhi etc, the process of counseling has already been started adding that some states have started admissions, it said.
Moreover, it is mentioned in the release that some Manipur students have scored all India ranking but they did not register themselves in the central pool counseling as the State Govt had given assurance to admit them in the best colleges and further maintained that the career of many students will be discredited if the NEET result is not accepted, it said.
Meanwhile, the Manipur MBBS/BDS 2013 Entrance Examination Parents/Guardians Association has today said in a press release reacting to the statement of the official spokesperson of the Government of Manipur, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Moirangthem Okendra Singh on the issue of MBBS/BDS examination.
Minister M Okendra Singh has told on July 20 in the media that the cabinet meeting has decided to discuss the issue and come up with a decision in another cabinet meeting after consultation with legal experts and collecting information on how other States are handling the issue.
The press release questioned to the protest at the high security zone by the NEET successful candidates demanding to start counselling process for them and further continued to express their doubtful that the protest may be a state arranged one, it said.
Lastly, the parent association urged the Govt of Manipur to sincerely act according to the Apex Court ruling in the interest of 5756 MBBS/BDS candidates adding that it will be a good for the Govt and all, it thus concluded.
