ATDSU Manipur to launch agitations from 21 July

IMPHAL, July 15: The All Tribal Disabled Students’ Union, Manipur has decided to launch several kinds of agitation alleging that the Government has failed to take action against the police personnel of Sekmai police station for allegedly assaulting the Union’s president and its volunteers on June 3 during a 38 hour bandh called by the All Tribal Students’ Union, Manipur at around 5p at Kanglatombi area along the National Highway 2, said Letmingthang Haokip general scretary, ATDSUM during a press conference at Manipur Press Club, today.

Letmingthang Haokip further alleged that the president and other volunteers were manhandled while they were trying to free some members of the ATDSUM who were arrested by the police for allegedly supporting the bandh.

He further condemned the police action and demanded the termination of the involved personnel.  

He continued that the Union had submitted a memorandum to the state Home Minister on June 5 and in case the government fails to take up any action against the police personnel involved in the alleged incident by July 20, then the union will launch various types of agitations against the government.
