RBI to introduce plastic currency notes soon: D. Subbarao

New Delhi, May 8: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will introduce plastic currency notes soon, its governor, D Subbarao said on Wednesday.

On the issue of Cobrapost expose, he said, "No conclusive evidence of money laundering in Cobrapost expose has been found."

He added that the RBI or banks are not directly responsible for inquiring the source of money.

He further said that it is for the government and tax deparments to check money laundering.

Subbarao also said that it is a challenge to bring down inflation without hurting growth.
