Parents decry Govt inaction

IMPHAL, May 7: The National Defence Academy Candidates Parents Welfare Association, spokesperson N Nabachandra today claimed that the state government has failed to provide the sum of Rs one lakh which was announced earlier as award to all Manipur domiciled candidates clearing the examinations of the NDA.
Speaking to media persons at a press conference at Manipur Press Club today, the parents’ association spokesperson said as instructed by an official order dated July 2, 2012, the parents of those who have passed NDA had submitted the required documents including the candidates’ call letters to the State Academy of Training at Takyelpat.
He continued that though the state government has already distributed the awards for some of the NDA candidates, many are still to receive the said cash incentive announced by the state government.
He continued the government need to look into the issue at the earliest as the announcement was made a year back.
