Musical Extravaganza

LAMKA, May 19: The Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee of the Siamsinpawlpi /SSPP (Paite Students’ Welfare Association) organized a musical extravaganza on May 18, 2013 at Donbosco Technical Hall, Laitumkhrah Shillong under the theme "bringing together diverse ethnic culture of North East students through music".
The extravaganza is a part of SSPP’s year-long Golden Jubilee Celebration activities.
The program was inaugurated by Thangchinlian Guite, adviser of the SSPP Jt HQ and graced by N Munish Singh, Regional Director, Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) Shillong, as a Distinguished Guest.
The program featured songs ranging from country to modern songs, including the numbers from the nightingale of the Zomis, Chingnu.
Speaking to the IFP in a telephonic conversation, the moderator of the program Liankhankhup Phaipi said that the objective of the program is to strengthen the unity and integrity of the NE ethic student organizations.
It may be mentioned that the golden jubilee celebration committee had so far conducted a football tournament at CCpur, Manipur during January 2013 and also published a calendar for the current year besides conducting two seminars at NEHU, Shillong among others.
The program is sponsored by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of external Affairs, Government of India, Shillong, the Directorate of Arts & Culture, Government of Meghalaya, Shillong and Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum (MTDF) Shillong.
