Meira rally alleging medical negligence

IMPHAL, May 14: The JAC formed with regard to the death of Karam Bishorjit who the JAC says died of a case of medical negligence took out a meira rally and tried to storm the bungalow of the state Chief Minister on Monday late in the evening.

The rally was being taken out demanding befitting punishment for the doctors and nurses of the Jawaharlal Nehru of Institute of Medical science Porompat involved in the operation of the deceased Bishorjit.  However, a large number of Imphal East Police personnel prevented the angry JAC members from proceeding toward the Chief Minister’s bungalow and stopped them in front of the Churachand Higher Secondary School before they could reach Sanjenthong area and proceed to the Chief Minister's bungalow.

It may be mentioned that the JAC had earlier annnounced to launch strong agitations in case the government fail to take necessary action by 4pm of May 13.
