JNGVO clarifies over CNPO allegations

IMPHAL, May 9: The Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organization, Kakching clarified over allegations levelled by the Chandel Naga People organization (CNPO) against the Local MLA of Kakching and the claim of some land of Thoubal District as a part of Chandel District.

Addressing a press conference at the Manipur Press Club, President Ksh Biren of the Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organization  condemned the press statement of the (CNPO) Chandel District which was published in some daily newspapers  blaming them for taking out sign boards written as Chandel district in the area he said

He further said that the Local MLA of Kakching had nothing to do with the matter. He said, "All together, 33 villages have settled in the area  from the year 1975 onward after buying the land from their respective land owners with the land revenue of the area  being collected by the Revenue Department  of Thoubal as the district boundary has existed from the past many years."
