CCpur group to meet Gaikhangam


IMPHAL, May 14( IFP) : Five representatives of Meitei Society, Churachandpur are set to meet the state Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who also holds the charge of Home, regarding the activities carried out by some unknown indelicate persons from the morning of May 6 to May 10, 2013 at Churachandpur to inflict hatred between two particular communities.

According to a report received by IFP, the representatives of Meitei Society led by its Advisor Ng Rajen and including Hemam Kulla Singh, President; Kh Ranjit, Joint Secretary; Ch Bijen, Secretary Organisation; and Moirangthem Thoiba Singh, Finance Secretary will meet the Dy CM at 8 am tomorrow.

The report further said that the five representatives along with representatives of the United Committee Manipur (UCM) will be present in the meeting with the Dy CM that will focus on the unwanted incidents that had occurred in Churachandpur district.

They will hand over copies of the pamphlets to him, which were inscribed with strong words in red ink to inflict hatred between the two communities which were found pasted and dropped along the streets on 6th and 10th of the current month at New Bazaar area and Khumujamba Leikai in Churachandpur.

The Dy CM will be exhorted to ascertain those persons responsible for trying to cause hatred between the communities in the District which have been inhabited by various communities with love and harmony since many years.

It will also be appealed to give them befitting punishment as per the law. The government will be urged to take up strong step so that such untoward incidents do not recur again, and also the step to protect people of the targeted community.
