Another woman found dead; husband absconding

MOREH, May 7: In what many turn out to be another incident of crime against women, a woman married to a non-local was found dead in a suspicious manner along the Imphal Moreh National Highway some 2kms away from the Moreh Police station today.
The woman is identified as Neikholat Kilong (25) daughter of Seichon Kilong of Moreh Ward No 9, Lhangkichoi veng. Her husband identified as only Bijoy a labourer of the Border Roads Task Force at Moreh who has been reported missing.
It is suspected that she was killed after being hitt with something blunt on the back of the head as there were marks on the back of the head and dried blood on her nose and mouth.
A hoe, a horse-star sandal and a piece of cloth were recovered from near the dead body.
Locals of the village said that the husband and wife duo had left their residence yesterday morning around 9:30am with the husband holding a hoe.
Meanwhile, enraged locals have already demanded the BRTF to produce Bijoy at the earliest, while the police have filed a case on the incident.
The woman is survived by two children.
