IMPHAL, April 9: A press release from the Directorate of Information and Public Relations has said that as per the official statement from the Directorate of Employment, Manipur, the total number of unemployed males and females registered with the Directorate stands at 6,88,135 till February 2013.
Of the total number, there are 1,17,333 unemployed males and 61,686 unemployed females and a total of 1,79,019 in Imphal West district; 78,369 males and 31,276 females with a total of 1,09,685 in Imphal East; 91,859 males and 28,223 female and a total of 1,16,082 in Thoubal district, the statement said.
It continued that Bishnupur district has 50,359 unemployed males and 17,077 females with a total of 67,434; Churachandpur has 50,792 unemployed males and 17,440 unemployed females with a total of 68,232; Ukrul has 21,041 unemployed males and 9,165 unemployed females with a total of 30,206.
Further according to the statement, there are 41,076 unemployed males and 15,570 unemployed females in Senapati district and the total stands at 56,686.
In Tamenglong district there are 17,931 unemployed males and 5,761 unemployed females with a total of 23,692 while Chandel has 19,624 unemployed males and 8,778 unemployed females with a total number of 28,402, it said.
Of the total number of handicapped persons, 2,543, males are 1,719 and females 828. For UEI and GB males are 2907 and females 3,327, it said.
