Tapta tour flagged off


IMPHAL, April 8: After the recent inauguration of Manipur’s renowned protest singer Tapta’s music recording studio called “fusion musical box” at his Naranseina home,about 40 km south of Imphal under Bishnupur district, the singer will be leading a team for a music tour of the North East states in a move to  re-build and re-establish contact with Manipuri diaspora.

The formal flag off ceremony of the 12 days long musical tour of the Tapta band under the banner “Chahi tarek Khuntakpa (or Seven years of Devastation)” was held at the Western gate of the historic Kangla fort in Imphal today morning.

MLA Laishom Ibomcha flagged off the band’s tour, which is being organized by theImphal based, NE Brothers Entertainment Limited.

According to the organizers, the first show of the tour will start from Wapokpi near Silchar(Assam) on April 10, followed by similar shows at Karaikandi also in Assam on  April 11 and another at Aizawl in neighbouring Mizoram on April 13.

Tapta will also perform at the heart of NE India’s rock capital Shillong on April 14 before the tour concludes at Imphal with a gala show on April 19.
