KYKL cadre arrested with arms and ammunition by combined team

IMPHAL, April 3: A combined team of Thoubal district commandos and 15 Assam Riffles arrested one cadre of the  Kangleipak Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) along with arms and ammunition and two kilogram of explosives according to a press release issued by the Superintendent of Police, Thoubal Dr Ak Jalajit .

The release said that the combined team  conducted a cordon and search operation at Irong village under Thoubal district yesterday evening and arrested one KYKL cadre identified as Moirangthem Ibomcha alias German alias Momocha (29), son of M Shyamkanhai of Ningel Maning Leikai at around 7.55 pm and recovered one M-16 rifle along with magazines and 15 live rounds of 5.56 Ammunitions, one Chinese made hand grenade and two kilograms of explosive with detonators from his possession.

The press release further said that on questioning the individual, he further revealed that he joined the organization (KYKL) in the year 2002 and presently holds the rank of a Self styles Sergeant Major, having army number 5342 of the second batch.
