Lui Ngai Ni celebrated

Chandel, Feb, 15: The State Level Lui-Ngai-Ni 2013 festival, the Nagas Seed Sowing festival was celebrated under the theme of Weaving Peace Through Culture at the Maha union Govt Higher secondary School Playground today.
Shri L. Dikho Hon’ble MLA and Chapa Nunghlung Victor Hon’ble MLA grace the auspicious occasion as the Guest of Honour and as the the Chief Host respectively. The colourful function was also attended by a host of special guest, dintinguished invitees, tribe presidents, Chiefs, DLOs, public leaders and thousand of delegates hailing from different parts of the state.
Today’s Lui-Ngai-Ni celebration was marked by welcome speech delivered by Somipam Lungleng, Chairman, Central organising Committee, Lighting of the Sacred Fire and Blessing of the Seeds followed by a beautiful Choreography presented by the Students of Anallon Christian Institute Chandel. Greetings from the President United Naga Council Shri. L. Adani was followed by presentation of the musical Interlude presented by a child artist namely Lanlan Huileng. Winning Trio Trio SDSA Voice Hunt and Naga Artiste Collective also lended their voice through their heart throbbing musical Nos that came in the first session.
Most interestingly, the bamboo cliimbing competition that preceded the Cultural regale session, accompanied by performance of beautiful and cultural dances by ten troupes was an eyewashing and entertaining event in the noon session.
While giving his speech, Mr. Adikho, Hon’ble MLA pointed out that the Nagas are living in the crucial period of time and that the time has come for the Nagas to reintrospect. He also observed that it is time for the Naga people to be friendly with the whole of the world so as to bringing peace and debvelopment in our land.
He asked the Naga people to work hard and enshrine in them the work culture.He stressed on the needs and measures to develop agriculture, horticulture for additional income generation. He also appeal to
In his greeting, Mr. Adani, President of the United Naga Council said that Luingaini Celebration in Chandel under the theme “Weaving Peace Through Culture” is the second of its kind afte UNC declaration to severe ties with the government of Manipur. The first being in Ukhrul under the theme “ Sowing Seeds of Change”. This celebration (Lui-Ngai-Ni 2013) comes three days after completion of 5th round of tripartite talk where the Nagas have communicated their sentiment s that the next round of talks sholud go deeper into the core of issue of the demand for an lternative arrangement and to which GOI had assured of a follow up talk without inordinate delay.
He also observed that sowing of seeds is central to the culture of the Naga people therfore sowing of seeds of fraternity and love among ourselves and mutual respect with our neighnbours should continue to renewed as our fundamental element in our world view and also in our communty relationship.
“Ours is a culture of peace. Peace will be upheld in Unity and Strenght. We have alwayys maintained that we are not communal and that we respect the culture, identity and aspirations of other communites just as we wish that ours is respected” said L. Adani, President, UNC.
Finally quoting the theme Mr. president urge the naga people to reaafirm the wisdom filled values of their forefathers and commit themselves to wage peace amongst themselves and with their neighbours and ushers in an era of harmony, properity and good will in their collective lives.
