IMPHAL, February 13: A one day seminar on the topic 'Higher Education options in US, Indo-US cultural and economic interdependence opportunities in US' was organized by the Manipur Institute of Management Studies, Manipur University at their conference hall today.
Rachel Sunden, Deputy Director American Centre, Kolkata expressed that the US and India shares common concerns over the higher education system because it is one the important phase to go further in one’s life.
She mentioned that US President Obama called India as “Indispensible Partner” and that the relation between India and US will be one of the most defining partnerships for the US in the 21st century.
She further said the partnership between the two countries was created to ensure that government efforts are informed and guided by the business people, scientist, educators and other who contributed deepening the partnership between people. The idea behind the strategic dialogue was to depend people to people, business to business and government to government linkages for the mutual benefit of both countries and for the promotion of global peace, stability, economic growth and prosperity, she said.
