Gangte Gospel centenary celebration

IMPHAL, November 25 : The Evangelical Synod Church (ESC) of the Gangte have called a press meet at their Headquarter at Chengkonpang, Churachandpur.

Highlighting the Gangte  Christian Gospel Centenary celebration program Chairman, LS Gangte  said that the aim was to praise God and more than 10000 believer from the Gangte community are expected to attend the function and  a number of programs will be conducted.

He further said that a centenary torch will be carried from Saichang village to Chengkonpang where the celebration will be held.

The organizers added that the period between 14 - 16 December will witness the celebration and 17 will be the departing day. One of the highlight of the press meet, was also the exhibition of the Christian Bible, exclusively written by hand by Moithangkim of Imphal , Tinglalchoi Gangte of Chengkonpang , Chongneizo of Chengkonpang and SEB Director, Paubiak  Gangte.

Different denomination of churches from of Churachandpur  are also invited and also church leaders from Bangalore ,Shillong and Tripura are also expected to attend.   A documentary will be made and show cast at the celebration.

The Gangte tribe who are rich in legends and stories will provide the subject for the documentary. Lastly,the organizers of the centenary celebration urged organizations, be it a social, political, underground etc. to refrain from holding any form of band that can  jeopardize the celebration.
