Manipur Cabinet sub-committee to monitor Naga peace process


IMPHAL, October 18: In an aim to alleviate the apprehension that has surrounded the public in the wake of the latest development in the Naga peace process, the state Cabinet has formed a Cabinet sub-committee on Thursday to monitor the peace process, official sources said.

The decision to set up the Cabinet sub-committee to monitor the peace process of the Central Government and NSCN (IM) was taken at a Cabinet meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat at 4 pm. It was chaired by Chief Minister O Ibobi.

 The meeting also discussed about Manipur hydro power policy and other things pertaining to judicial inquiries. The meeting, however, did not take any decision on these regards. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ibobi is leaving Imphal for New Delhi tomorrow, official sources confirmed. But the sources refused to divulge the exact purpose of the Ibobi’s Delhi visit.
